Kew Image Descriptions

Photographs document a walk through the Palm House at Kew Gardens. The building is a large Victorian glass house filled with tropical plants. It towers over us as we enter the large heavy doors. The glass is steamed and the white metal coated in bright rust. Green palms and plants fill the space towering over us and tumbling over each other. A white spiral staircase leads to a walkway that circles the Palm House. At each end of the walkway we can peer down into crowded corridors with plants pushing up and filling the space below. Large white flowers hang from above in one photograph. We continue around the walkway and reach another spiral staircase descending into the mass of plants and reaching a Victorian door rusted, cracked, and repaired with transparent tape.
